About Instructor: Carol Gonzalez
Introduces the basic philosophy and practice of Hatha Yoga (the physical aspect of yoga, often interpreted as “yoga for health”. Hatha Yoga renews, invigorates and balances the body by stretching and strengthening the muscles, joints, spine and connective tissues, and by directing blood, oxygen and life-force to all the parts of the body, including the organs, glands and nerves. Focus is on working with the breath (pranayama) and awareness (dharana) to comfortably and safely arrive at the yoga postures (asanas). Everyone is encouraged to work within their own level of comfort and challenge. Time: Noon – 1:00pm Fridays
What to wear: Wear clothes you feel
comfortable stretching in that are moderately tight-fitting (to see
alignment). Mats: Yoga mats are provided if you do not have your own. Experience: This is an ongoing class. Beginners welcome. For Your Comfort: Make sure you are well hydrated before and after class. Yoga on an empty stomach is best.
