bullet AIS Class (Active Isolated Stretching - Taught by Claire Darling)  AIS classes will be every other Saturday, 11am-12 noon, starting February 2nd.  Here's a tentative schedule; 2/2/08 - Knee / Hip Stretches; 2/16/08 - Neck Region Stretches; 3/1/08 - Foot / Ankle Protocol; 3/15/08 - Shoulders; 3/29/08 - Back (I); 4/5/08 - Back (II); 4/19/08 - Wrist / Carpal Tunnel.  $10 for non dojo members, $5 for dojo members.

 

Recent Events in 2007...

bullet 3rd Annual Portland Friendship Seminar - Sunday April 6th 2008
This years Friendship Seminar was an amazing event, hosted by Portland Aikikai.  Training sessions were taught by chief instructors from 6 dojos across Portland.  It was a great opportunity to see old friends and make new friends.  Each year the event gets bigger and bigger.  See pictures from this years event.
bullet Saturday, March 8th 2008; Kyu Rank Test
Testing candidates, check the roster to ensure you have enough hours and calendar time!  Be sure to communicate your intention to test and get your testing fee turned in, in advance.  Find a partner to work with and be sure to prepare yourself to deliver a good test.
bullet Saturday, November 3rd; Kyu Rank Test
Congratulations to our students who recently tested for kyu ranks; Shawn Berthel - 5th kyu, Claire Darling - 4th kyu, and Mark Allen - 3rd kyu.  Pictures have been uploaded.
bullet Saturday, July 7th; Kyu Rank Testing
Congratulations to our kyu rank testing candidates for their fine testing performances.  Josh Dondino, 6th kyu, Drew Gonzales, 4th kyu, Jordan Kremer, 6th kyu, Tylor Neist 4th kyu, Kevin Tomlinson, 2nd kyu, and John VanBoxtel, 6th kyu.  Pictures have been uploaded.
bullet April 13th - 15th was the 5th Annual John Messores Seminar. 
John Messores Sensei, 6th dan in ASU Aikido, has been training over 30 years directly under Mitsugi Saotome Shihan.  Messores returned for the 5th annual seminar at Budo Dojo where he demonstrated bokken, jo, and empty hand techniques.  The event was a great success.  See the photos here.
