Nia at Budo Dojo FAQ Sheet

Announcing The Nia Technique at Budo Dojo

with Carol Gonzalez

“Get Fit The Body’s Way”

“Nia is soulful and sexy”

                                             - Shannon Day, Portland Monthly  July 2007

What:          The original fusion fitness technique, Nia creatively integrates

movements and concepts from the Martial Arts, Dance Arts and

Healing Arts to deliver an expressive, fun, robust workout that

conditions, strengthens and stretches from the inside out.

What to wear:   Wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving in.

Nia is done barefoot - if you have a structural foot condition

and need the support of shoes, please contact the instructor.

(As this class is done in a martial arts studio, shoes are prohibited

as they would tear the tatami mats. Thank you for your understanding.)

Experience:  No previous experience necessary.

The moves are simple and easy to learn.

Nia is taught offering different levels, so you can work at your own

fitness level - you’ll naturally build strength, endurance, sensitivity

and range of movement over time.

For Your Comfort:

As in any workout, make sure you are well hydrated before and

after class.  Have enough fuel to burn; however, you’ll feel much

better moving on a slightly empty stomach!
